Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Adult Education

This training supports educators and staff in educational institutions in creating inclusive learning environments in classrooms and across institutional contexts.

This course is designed for teachers, trainers, and staff in educational institutions who want to create inclusive learning environments in classrooms and across their organisations. The diversity of learners is a daily reality in adult education. Yet many professionals feel uncertain about how to address different cultural backgrounds and other forms of diversity in a sensitive and constructive way. This training provides a solid foundation and practical strategies for implementing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion effectively in adult education.


This course offers teachers, trainers, and administrative staff a comprehensive introduction to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the context of adult education. It was specifically designed to meet the criteria of the Erasmus+ program, but participation is open to anyone interested, regardless of funding.

In addition to theoretical foundations, the course explores social and legal frameworks relevant to Diversity & Inclusion. A strong emphasis is placed on practical application: how to design diversity-sensitive teaching formats, communicate inclusively, and embed inclusion within institutional culture.
 
A distinctive feature of this program is its experiential learning approach through excursions and practice-based activities in Berlin. Participants experience best-practice examples of Diversity & Inclusion first-hand and critically reflect on them. The aim is to develop sustainable strategies that can be applied directly to participants’ own educational practice and institutional contexts.
